This is a small tool for visualizing the compression ratio of files and directories on BTRFS filesystems. It is a GTK wrapper around the compsize
command which displays compression statistics in the terminal.
To use this tool run the command sudo compsize-gtk <path>
where <path>
is the directory that you want to analyze. The tool will execute the compsize
command and display the results in a GTK window.
The bars in the section “Method” show how much of the data is compressed using each compression method or algorithm. The bars in the section “Ratio” show the actual compression ratio for the data that was compressed using each method.
The checkbox can be used to enable or disable BTRFS compression on a per-directory basis.
