Aptik 21.05

Aptik 21.05 is now available. This is a minor update with new repositories.

What’s New

Optimised Packages

Packages for Aptik are now optimized for each distribution that it runs on. So instead of a single repository and a single set of packages, there are now different repositories for each release of Ubuntu and Debian; and for each hardware architecture that it runs on (amd64, i386, arm64, armhf). Please re-run the installation steps that you received at the time of purchase to switch over to the newer repository.

The repository now uses keyring files as recommended by Debian instead of using apt-key which is deprecated. apt-key is going to be removed in future versions of Debian and Ubuntu (after Debian 11 / Ubuntu 22.04) so it’s as good a time as any to switch over to newer standards. All Debian and Ubuntu-based distributions continue to be supported starting from Debian 9 Stretch and Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial. Aptik will drop support for Debian 9 and Ubuntu 16.04 by end of 2022 after Debian 11 / Ubuntu 22.04 is released.
